Western Fruit Express

Galveston RailRoad Museum

Galveston Railroad Museum

The Western Fruit Express Refrigerator Railway Car #66354 seen in the picture was my favorite railway car with its bright yellow paint job and the textures on the side door had so much character. This particular car was built in 1938 and could hold 10,000 lbs of ice for transportation of perishable fruit products.

What a cool museum! My husband and I really enjoyed seeing all the actual old railroad cars and being able to enter and walk through them was like stepping back in time. With a large variety of locomotives, passenger cars, and freight equipment, come see which is your favorite.

Definitely a must see on your visit to Galveston and free parking behind the museum is included with admission ticket!
