Pink Buttercup

                                        Photography during Covid-19

Photography has been a huge part of my life as a hobby the last few years with travel and landscape as my primary emphasis. With travel restrictions in place to slow the spread of the virus I have been homebound just like everyone else.

I work full time in the medical field so I have been going to work every morning and coming straight home in the evening . The constant worry of contracting the virus and bringing it home to my husband has been very draining.

Luckily, one of the photography groups I follow online encouraged their followers to keep taking pictures and share what they created with the online community. I was amazed at the work my fellow photographers were posting and drew inspiration from this. I started taking my camera with me on walks and was pleasantly surprised by the subjects I found to photograph so close to home. I soon realized that Mother Nature has not been affected by this pandemic at all ! The bees were busy pollinating, the spring bird migration was in full swing, and the wildflowers were in bloom just like they always do.

Just being outside and doing something I enjoy was a necessary mental break from the human tragedy that was happening all over the world. The pictures that I captured make me very happy and I hope they will make someone else happy as well.
